Betty Lou Haffner, 95, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away at 9:07 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Endeavor Health Edward Hospital in Naperville. Betty was born on August 18, 1929, in East St. Louis to Homer and Velma (McPhail) Pratte.

 She is survived by her daughter, Diana Lynn (Gerald) Pittro of Naperville; son, Shell T. (Lori) Haffner of Tualatin, OR; grandchildren, Kristin Pittro of Aurora, Elisabeth (Riley) Sorenson of California, and Michael Haffner of Sacramento, CA; great-grandson Lucas Barton Sorenson.

 She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy M. Leezy of Springfield; and brother, James William Pratte of Pawnee.

 Betty retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation after 27 years and also worked for several Springfield supper clubs including Black Angus, The Glade Room at St. Nick Hotel, and Parkview Supper Club. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield and Elks Club #158 Auxiliary.

 Cremation will be arranged by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 A private family burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
