With profound sorrow and deep love, we announce the passing of Bradley James Lund, age 8, of Springfield, Illinois. Bradley left this world far too soon following a tragic car accident on April 28th in Chatham, Illinois, and passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 4, 2017, Bradley was the beloved youngest child of Daniel and Cynthia Lund and the cherished little brother of Addison, Evelyn, and Nora. From the very beginning, Bradley was a gentle, joyful soul—quiet and observant in new places, but endlessly sweet, silly, and full of laughter at home and among those he loved most.

A second grader at Glenwood Elementary School, Bradley was known for his bright smile, contagious laughter, and kind spirit. He delighted in the simple joys of childhood—building intricate creations with Legos and Magna-Tiles, drawing imaginative scenes, exploring the worlds of Dog Man books, and playing video games that brought his creative mind to life. He especially loved superheroes, sharks, cars, dinosaurs, and spending time outside getting messy, exploring, and avoiding baths at all costs.

Bradley had a heart full of wonder and a boundless capacity for joy. He found comfort in storytime snuggles with his mom and brought happiness to every life he touched. His family and friends will always remember his playful spirit, his curiosity, and the quiet joy he radiated.

In his final act of love and generosity, Bradley gave the gift of life to others through organ donation—his light continues to shine in those he helped heal.

Bradley’s time with us was heartbreakingly short, but his legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

A private family service will be held in his honor, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to Chatham Area Library Foundation to help complete “The Backyard” a space for children and families to enjoy or to the Glenwood High School Student Council YNOT family support fund.

Bradley was an avid volunteer alongside his family and his legacy is one of love, compassion, and community. Honor Bradley with an act of kindness- join a volunteer organization, lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend, or commit a random act of kindness.
