Camille D. Crumbaugh, 93, of Springfield, passed quietly at home joining her loved ones with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born December 21, 1931, in Scott County, MO, to Virgin Minnie (Slinkard) White (1899 - 1968) and William Henry White (1888 - 1962). She was one of twelve children, five brothers and six sisters.
She attended high school in Chaffee, MO and received her education degree from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, MO. She taught school in Henry County, MO until 1955 when she married Milfred Crumbaugh (1931 - 2009) on September 10, 1955. They bought a home in Miner, MO and two of her children were born in Sikeston, MO. The family moved to Springfield, IL where her second son was born. In Springfield, she was a substitute teacher, director of a day care, and worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. She was a member of First Baptist Church and later attended Cherry Hills Church in Springfield, IL.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Martin of Springfield; two sons, Steven Crumbaugh of Mt. Pleasant, WI and Bill (Lisa) Crumbaugh of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Erin Shanle) Martin, Andrew (Ramona) Martin, Matthew Martin, Emily (Nathan) Keener, Nikolai Crumbaugh, Emma Crumbaugh, and Anna Crumbaugh; ten great-grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Hunter Martin, Owen Martin, Noah Martin, Milfred Martin, Branson Martin, Eric Martin, Jenna Martin, Violet Keener, and Meera Keener; and one sister, Martha Standridge of Sikeston, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, five brothers; five sisters; and daughter-in-law, Elena Crumbaugh.
Visitation: 5:00 – 6:30 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 6:30 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Stephen Lawrence officiating. A private family burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
