Carl Anthony Lamberson, born June 6, 1954, entered eternal rest at his home in Springfield, Illinois, on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Lamberson was born to parents Arthur “Gene” and Theresa Lamberson in Hannibal, MO. He was the eldest of five, including brothers Tony (Sue), Pat (Barb), and Gene (Lisa) Lamberson, and sister Carmen (Rick) Bozarth.

Carl married Pamela Jameson on July 24, 2004. Together, they spent more than two decades shepherding a large and loving family, including 19 sons, daughters, and spouses, 19 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, with a third on the way. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ponto and Rosa Genovese and Robert and Wilma Lamberson, his parents, his brother Gene, and two sons, Nathan Lamberson and Robert Zulauf.

Carl retired from Caterpillar in 2019, having worked 47 years as a Patternmaker in the company's Mapleton foundry. He also worked extensively as a driver with Tazewell Towing in Pekin, IL over many years. He was a hard worker, not just with his hands but with his head and his whole heart. A machinist, mechanic, woodworker, and occasional poet, Carl spent his retirement traveling with wife, Pam, tinkering in his garage, and proudly hand stitching baby blankets for grandchildren and great grandchildren on the way.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Big Sky.
