Chase Tyler Clayton 24, of Sherman, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He was born May 6, 2001, in Springfield, IL, the son of Corey and Sherri (Eeten) Clayton. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought laughter and love to all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Corey and Sherri Clayton of Sherman; his sister, Abigail “Abby” (Kristopher) Ackerman of Chicago; grandparents, Pat Clayton of Rushville, IL, June Huffer of Lincoln, and Pete and Della Eeten of Pekin; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Clayton and Charlie Huffer.
Chase attended Williamsville Christian Church. He was a 2019 graduate of Williamsville High School and a 2020 graduate of Hobart Institute of Welding. He went on to use his skills in multiple welding jobs and he currently worked at the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.
His pride and joy was his Dodge Charger, he never missed a chance to take friends or family for a ride, proudly showing off every new modification with a smile and rev of the engine. Chase was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved riding his four wheeler and dirt bike, fishing, discovering and listening to new music, gaming with friends, and his cat Teddy. He was always willing to lend a hand or crack a joke. Chase will be remembered for his big heart, loyalty, and great sense of humor.
Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Williamsville Christian Church.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Williamsville Christian Church with Pastor Shane Sims and George Krebs officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
