Donna M. Kruger passed away on August 20, 2025 at the age of 96 years young.

Born April 26, 1929 in Springfield, IL to Donald Fredrick and Ula Mae (Adams) Cornish. She married Kenneth L. Kruger. Donna is now reunited with them and other loved ones.

Donna is survived by her children: Greg (Bon) Kruger of Springfield, Karen (Dan) Reeves of Chatham, Todd Kruger of Springfield, Steve Kruger (Susie Law) of North Port, FL, Jeffrey Kruger of Springfield, Brenda (Jack) Brummett of Auburn, and Gale (Joe) Langfelder of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws; nieces; nephews; and many more who she welcomed into the family with open arms.

Donna graduated Lanphier High in 1946. She worked as a dental assistant through high school continuing until she stayed home to raise her wonderful, wonderful 7 children.

She loved reading, music, game shows, crime drama tv shows, crossword puzzles, was an avid tennis fan and always enjoyed the sunsets.

She could always be counted on for an honest conversation, a big bear hug, pizzelles, a great cup of coffee, or a bowl of the most perfect cream of wheat made with love.

Donna’s greatest joy came from her family, and she was known among loved ones for her generous heart and unwavering support. Hosting holidays or the annual Burgoo, she always found a reason to get the family together. These traditions she created and passed down are now even more cherished. She brought light, laughter, and love to everyone she met. Always remembering special occasions with mailing a card. All will miss her dearly and remember her in their hearts forever.

Visitation: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Donna by donating to a charity of your choice.
