Eunice “Peggy” Vidakovich, 83 of Litchfield, passed away at 8:29 pm, Friday, July 3, 2026, at Litchfield Health & Rehab. She was born October 28, 1942, in Litchfield, the daughter of Ivel and Eunice (Winstead) Hooper. She married Louis Vidakovich in 1987, and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2005.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Wanda McCarty, Phylis McCarty, Lynda Hooper, Rose Marie Willard, JoAnn Depper, Buster Hooper and Owassa Hooper and great grandson Austin Rhodes.
Peggy is survived by two daughters, Fonda (Larry) Rhodes of Divernon and Bev (Charlie) Cherry of Springfield; two sons, William “Bugsy” (Jan) Marshall of Litchfield and Richard “Rick” Marshall; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Pat Morgan of Chatham and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Peggy was a member Southern Baptist Church in Virden. She retired from Warehouse Shoes in sales.
She enjoyed working in her yard, crafting, garage sales, and playing bingo. Peggy will be remembered for her love of her family and strong faith.
Cremation rites are being accorded by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. No services are planned at this time.
