Evelyn L. Stotts 92, of Galesburg, died at 7:34 pm, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born February 1, 1934, in Galesburg, to Delmar and Edna (Peterson) Suydam.

 Survivors include one son, Damon Stotts of Springfield; two daughters, Tracey Shimmin of Galesburg and Cathey (Harry “Butch”) Humphrey of Auburn; four grandchildren, Aaron (Kashima) Stotts, Nathan (Megan) Stotts, Luke (Hannah) Humphrey and Hannah Humphrey; several great-grandchildren; special family friend, Lenore Hayes and three nieces.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Garry Stotts; one brother, Delmar Suydam; two sisters, Dorothy Chester and Helen Blixt.

 Evelyn was a member of First United Methodist Church in Galesburg and Galesburg Chapter #235 Order of the Eastern Star.

 She retired in 2015, as office manager for Breslin’s Floor Covering in Galesburg after more than forty years of service.

 Working and spending time with family were her greatest enjoyments. She loved tending to her yard and flowers.

 No services are planned. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg.

 Memorial contributions may be made to Knox County Humane Society No Kill Animal Shelter.
