Frances C. Marada, 90, passed away at 8:30 am, Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on February 25, 1936, in Riverton, IL to Paul C. and Mary (Hruska) Marada.

She is survived by her sister Theresa Power of Springfield; brother, Stephen Marada of Sherman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings: brothers Frank, Mike, John, and Joseph (Donna) Marada; sisters Mary, Anne, Helen Marada, and Emma (Don) Sanders.

Frances attended Riverton Schools and graduated from Riverton High School in 1955. She was employed by the Unocal Corporation in their Shaumburg Communications Department, retiring after nearly 32 years. All that knew her were witness to her shining example of what it meant to truly perform a job well-done.

As a member of St. Aloysius Church of Springfield, IL and a near-daily attendant of St. James Church in Riverton, Frances was firm in the practice of her Catholic faith, the foundation beneath everything she did in life.

She was sister, aunt, and caregiver - a constant steady presence through generations of joy and loss. She delighted in her nieces and nephews, and followed closely all the ways her family continued to grow and carry forward what her parents had built. She considered their life's achievements her return on investment.

But it was in the rhythm of her daily life that Frances was perhaps most truly herself. Long after retirement, she kept a firm and deliberate schedule, rising early, tending to her home, prioritizing her fitness and wellness, and setting aside resources for charitable giving. No one could deny her ability to put in a hard day's work and be prepared for any tasks that the next day held. She was always moving forward.

Structure was her love language, and she believed that how you spent your ordinary days was your true life story - and Frances Marada lived her life purposefully.

Visitation: 9:00 – 10:00 am, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church in Riverton.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 am, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church, with Rev. Christudasan Kurisadima officiating. A burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverton Food Pantry c/o St. James Church and St. James Church.
