Geneva Sue Grebler, affectionately as Sue by her friends and loved ones, left this world peacefully with family by her side on March 20, 2026, at 1:13 pm in Springfield, IL. Sue was born on August 6, 1944, in Kentucky but spent the majority of her life in Illinois. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gordon and Maxine Loy, four sisters and three brothers. She leaves behind four sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews.
She embarked on a fulfilling career as a real estate broker, property manager, and a bookkeeper. Her professional achievements were matched only by her dedication and skill in each role she assumed, reflecting her attention to detail and exceptional work ethic.
She was a lovely, refined woman. She was extremely generous and empathetic. Sue found joy in the outdoors, caring for and admiring the beauty of birds, and enjoyed the companionship of dogs. She will be deeply missed, but the loved she shared will continue to light our way.
Cremation will be arranged by Staab Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Sue, may be made to the Animal Protective League, Springfield, IL.
