Grace A. Lind, 74, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Arcadia Care in Auburn, IL. She was born on January 3, 1952, in Springfield to John Henry and Jacqueline Howard Bauereiss.

Grace is survived by her son, Ed J. (Holly) Lind, Jr.; brother, Paul Schnapp of Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Mike Ragland and Jim Callarman; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; an aunt; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Harry Bauereiss; and sister, Pam Ragland.

She was a lifelong resident of Springfield and was a graduate of Springfield High School. She was a dedicated mother and caregiver through the years for many family members. She absolutely loved a game of BINGO, and would play at least weekly, but many times daily. She was able to walk to her local BINGO Hall from her house, and used to take her mom, Jacqueline, there when she was wheelchair bound. They both had a formula for winning and would be sure the cash prizes were always safe on their way home…usually with her mom sitting on the cash!

Grace was of the Catholic Faith and grew up going to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was always comforted by the prayers that the Parish would extend her way.

Memorial Gathering: 9:30 - 10:30 am, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 10:30 am, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
