Helen L. Barlow, 97, of Taylorville, formerly of Springfield and Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Taylorville Estates. She was born February 6, 1929, in Springfield, the daughter of the late George and Lena Barlow.

 She is also preceded in death by her two sisters, Blanche Dambacher and Margaret Loerakker.

 Helen is survived by her two nieces, Lana (Fred) Sapetti of Kincaid and Sherry (Mike Rhodes) Puccetti of Springfield; two nephews, George (Rose) Loerakker of Hendersonville, NC and Steve (Debbie) Loerakker of Scottsdale, AZ and several great nieces and great nephews.

 Helen retired after 45 years from Illinois Plumbing Heating and Cooling Supply Company working as their bookkeeper.

 Helen was a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Springfield Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was the recipient of the “Around the Town” award. She was always an all-around athlete.

 Visitation: 10:00 – 11:00 am, Monday, May 11, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Monday, May 11, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. A burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
