James C. Sexton, 87, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born February 20, 1938, in Springfield, the son of Noel George and Mary Irene (Cappello) Sexton, Sr. He married Kathryn Sue Anderson June 26, 1965, and she preceded him in death October 19, 2017.

 He is survived by two children, James Sexton, Jr. of Aurora and Melinda (Jerry) Collins of Pleasant Plains; four grandchildren, Grant, Sydney, Jace and Jimmy and several nieces and nephews.

 Also preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Noel George Sexton, Jr. and sister, Barbara Ann Dowis.

 James worked as a pharmacist, most recently at Walgreens. He was a member of Springfield Bible Church and loved the Lord.

 James was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He had an exemplary work ethic and was an American Patriot.

 Graveside Service: 11:00 am, Monday, January 5, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Park with Reverend John Standard officiating.

 Memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Bible Church.
