James Earl Carrick, 74, of Springfield, died at 7:52 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 9, 1951, in Mansfield, OH, to Gene Carrick and Jean Michel Carrick Lamb. He married Cindy Jenot on February 27, 1982, and she survives.

 Also surviving are one son, Chad Carrick of Springfield; one sister, Joyce (Terry) Marschman; one brother, Mike Carrick; one half-brother, Bruce (Susie) Lamb; and one half-sister, Karen (Geronimo) Miranda. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 James was a graduate of Warrensburg – Latham High School. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the State of Illinois, working for IDOT where he retired after 35 years of service.

 He enjoyed restoring Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

 Visitation: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the United States Air Force.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
