James “Jim” A. Grohne, 78, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. Jim was born March 28, 1946, in Springfield, son of Howard Alan and Audrey Juanita Swaney Grohne.
He was preceded in death by his “partner for life”, Diane C. Wildrick.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Cindy Grohne Miller; granddaughter, Maria Olson; four grandsons, Baylor Williams, Aubrey Miller, Theodore Miller and Philip Miller; and sister, Sheryl MacIntyre.
He retired from the State Attorney’s Office for Sangamon County. Jim enjoyed skydiving, scuba, bowling, karate, and flying. He especially enjoyed golfing.
Memorial Gathering: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
