James “Jim” C. Bulpitt, 96, of Springfield, IL passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at his home. He was born on March 31, 1930, in Bulpitt, IL the son of James C. and Gladys (nee Achenbach) Bulpitt. He married Mary Yates in 1954 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield and she survives.

 In addition to his wife Mary, Jim is survived one daughter, Sheri Anne (Tony) Prebill of Aurora, IL; one son, Mike (Beth) Bulpitt of Springfield; six grandchildren, Paul Michael (Amy) Bulpitt, Patrick Joseph (Ashley) Bulpitt, Sara Elizabeth (Reese) Langheim, Richard Anthony Prebill, Christopher Joseph (Addie) Prebill; Six great-grandchildren plus one on the way, Addison, Leah, and Ava Bulpitt, Kale Snyder, and Conner and Callie Langheim.

 Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gayle Bulpitt, and Lowell Bulpitt.

 Jim graduated from high school in 1948, in Petersburg, IN. He attended and graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1953, as a registered pharmacist. He was drafted into the US Army in July of 1954 and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

 After being discharged from the Army Jim returned to Springfield and worked as a Registered Pharmacist for many years.

 He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Springfield.

 Private graveside services were held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in New Berlin with Rev. Ryan Kehoe officiating. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Parish.
