James Paul Boehm, 81 of Noblesville, IN formerly of Springfield, passed away at 7:35 am, Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Harbour Manor and Lodge in Noblesville. He was born on December 2, 1943, in Springfield, the son of George F. and Marjorie (Brennan) Boehm. He married Amber L. Leonetti on April 12, 1980, and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2015.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vickie Shafer; brother-in-law Pint Zake; sister-in-law, Marsha Boehm; and daughter-in-law, Ashley Boehm.

He is survived by two sons, James (Nichole) Boehm II of Noblesville, IN and Erich Boehm of Eagle River, AK; three grandchildren, Amelia, Logan and Oliver Boehm; four sisters, Marianne Biscoe of Frackville, PA, Betty Zake, Becky Markley and Martha Coombe, all of Springfield; brother, George Boehm of Sebastian, FL and many nieces and nephews.

James was of the Catholic Faith. He was an avid fisherman, loved watching Cardinals Baseball and also enjoyed hunting in Wyoming with his best friend Robert O’Connor.

He had worked as a welder at Allis Chalmers and retired from the State of Illinois department of transportation.

Visitation: 2 – 5 pm, Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am Monday, May 19, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Zachary Samples officiating.

Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery.
