Joan Marie Lomprez, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Concordia Village. She was born July 5, 1943, in Springfield, the daughter of Paul and Laurena (Frasco) Lomprez and they preceded her in death.

She is also preceded in death by her son, Michael Joseph Lowery; significant other of 30 years, John Minser; and three brothers, Paul, John, and Louis “Louie” Lomprez.

Survivors include two nieces, April (Dave) Hix and Heather Cunningham (Bill Jenkins) both of Danville; nephew, Brent Lomprez of Montague, NJ; sister-in-law, Natalie Lomprez of Covington, IN; great nieces and nephews, Lindsey Hix, Andrew (Lily) Hix, Levi Hix, and Cole Cunningham; two great-great nieces, Willow and Juniper Hix; John’s four children, Billie (Rick) Taylor, Marni (Steven) Lord, Justin (Dani) Minser, and Jason (Jess) Minser; and several cousins.

Joan was a member of Church of the Little Flower. She loved to travel and go on motorcycle trips. She bartended at Buckhart Tavern. Joan retired from Franklin Life and American General Insurance. 


Memorial Gathering: 10:30 am – 12 pm, Friday, May 26, 2023 at Church of the Little Flower.

Memorial Mass: 12 pm, Friday, May 26, 2023 at Church of the Little Flower with Reverend Al Kemme officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children
