Joseph “Joe” Allen Ward, 60, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 2, 1965, in Decatur, the son of Virgil and Marilyn (Leonard) Ward and they preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda (Jared) Hausmann of Weldon Spring, MO; two granddaughters, Audrey and Juliet Hausmann; and sister, Jody Sturtze of Oregon.
Joe was a proud 21-year United States Air Force Veteran, a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and a Ford Mustang enthusiast.
Joe didn't know a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was a devoted friend to many and will be missed dearly.
Joe’s family will host a graveside service at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
