Kenneth W. Elliott, Sr., 77, of Springfield, IL passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his wife and sister. He was born on August 13, 1948, in Peoria, IL, the son of Albert Edward and Zertha Faye (nee Whitley) Elliott. He married Joan McKinney on August 3, 2002, in Springfield and she survives.
In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by his children, Nikki Ivie of Birmingham, AL, Brandy (Billy) Denolley of Brilliant, AL, Kenny (Nikki) Elliott of Springfield, IL and Katie Elliott of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Jackson Reece, Tyler Elliott, Hannah, Matthew, Elizabeth, Junior McCann, and Regan Pendley; one great-grandchild, Kandance Elliott; and one sister, Joyce (Mike) Brooks of Peoria, IL.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ed Elliott; and one sister, Sharon Hood.
Kenneth worked as a custodian at the Temple B’rith Shalom in Springfield for twenty-eight years. He was also employed as a custodian with Feldman and Wesser Law Office for thirty years.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
He was a member of the VFW and the Abraham Lincoln Gun Club. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2026, Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Rabbi Barry Marks officiating.
Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Springdale Cemetery – Peoria with Rabbi Michael Datz officiating. Military honor’s will be provided by the Peoria American Legion Post #2 and the United States Army Burial Detail.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Temple B’rith Shalom.
