Kevin Scott Morris, age 66, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away on August 28, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1959, in Centralia, IL, and lived a life marked by adventure, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.
Kevin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Analyn (De Guzman) Morris, and his children, Kennedy, Zoey, Angela, Destry, Lance, Coleman, Carlita, and Karissa. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, who brought him great pride and happiness. He is further survived by his sister, Carolyn. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Jerry and Larry.
Kevin spent his working years in service to the State of Illinois, from which he retired after a career of dedication and responsibility. He was respected for his steady presence and dependable nature, and he carried that same sense of commitment into every part of his life. Whether at work, at home, or among friends, Kevin was known for being someone others could count on.
Outside of his career, Kevin embraced the things he loved with enthusiasm and authenticity. He enjoyed gardening and farming, and he found satisfaction in working with his hands and spending time outdoors. He had a fondness for Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and Duck Dynasty, and he appreciated the spirit and style that came with camo outfits. His German shepherds were also a cherished part of his life, and he took great joy in their companionship and loyalty.
Those who knew Kevin will remember him as adventurous, a man who approached life with a willingness to explore, to enjoy, and to live fully. He had a personality that left an impression, and his presence brought warmth and character to the lives of those around him. He valued family, enjoyed good company, and found meaning in the everyday moments that many overlook.
Kevin’s life was one of love, strength, and individuality. He will be remembered for the relationships he built, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he made on his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and his memory will continue to be treasured with affection and gratitude.
