Larry N. Green, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 7:20 pm, Friday, August 14, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 27, 1944, in Jacksonville, IL, the son of the late Nelson J. and Louise (Burnett) Green.
He is survived by his companion, Beth Ann Jones of Curran, IL; one daughter, Ashley (Remi) Delaune of Mexico; one son, Joseph (Christie) Green of Waverly, IL; mother of his children, Vicki Green of Franklin, IL; three grandchildren, Autumn, Skylar and Haven Green; one brother, Patrick Green (Marcia Terrones) of Waverly, IL and one niece, Magaly Green of Momence, IL.
Larry retired from the State of Illinois Department of Unemployment Services where he worked in the Benefits Center.
Larry was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Post #755.
In Larry’s free time he was very involved in his grandchildren’s lives and attending their sporting events. He liked going to see the Antique car shows with his buddy, John, and road trips with Debby and Beth Ann. He loved his afternoons with the gang at Louie’s, and he could never pass up a good cozy dog or sweet treat.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Friday, August 21, 2026, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
