Linda S. Perkinton, 80, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at her home. She was born July 1, 1944, in Litchfield, the daughter of Willard and Charlotte (Flemming) Peterson. She married Joseph C. Perkinton on October 12, 1963, and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2021.

 She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph E. Perkinton; and brother, Charles Peterson.

 Survivors include two children: Sheila Perkinton and James R. (Rochelle) Perkinton, both of Springfield; four grandchildren: Anthony Perkinton, Bailey Perkinton, Dylan J. (Aspen) Perkinton, and Brandon M. Goldesberry; two great-granddaughters, Brayleigh Grace Perkinton and Mae Sue Perkinton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A proud graduate of Litchfield High School, Linda lived a life filled with service, love, and enthusiasm. She was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, actively contributing to various Masonic events.

 In her free time, Linda enjoyed shopping sprees, thrift store adventures, and trying her luck at slot machines alongside her beloved husband. Her passion for Elvis Presley's music was unmatched.

 Linda provided for her family as a homemaker. Professionally, she served as an office administrator for the Illinois State Police, supporting her family and community with dedication.

 Memorial Gathering: 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Memorial Service: 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
