Lisa Beth Stone, 67, of Sparta, Tennessee, formerly of Sherman, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She was born on July 12, 1958, in Boonville, MO, the daughter of Jim and Lettie Diekroeger. She married Jim Stone on May 30, 1981.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Jim; a sister, Leigh Anne (Chris)Flatt of Rochester, IL, two nephews, Drew (Abby) Flatt and Taylor (Malvika) Flatt; Great Niece, Anna and Great Nephew, Arius.
Lisa retired from Prairie Cardiovascular after 24 years of service, finishing as a medical support supervisor.
Lisa was a member of Church of the Little Flower, where she was a eucharistic minister, a faithful member of the funeral choir and luncheon committee, and a willing volunteer to help the parish in whatever capacity may be needed. Lisa cherished and followed the teachings of Matthew 6:3-4 and Matthew 25:40.
The arc of Lisa’s life included many moves, both as a child and as an adult. Jim and Lisa’s first stop in their married lives was Waverly, IL, a place both of them continued to hold dear to their hearts for numerous reasons. Little did either of them know many of their experiences and relationships in Waverly would set the course for their faith journey as well.
Lisa was a voracious reader, loved to crochet, find and prepare new recipes, and share her love with her family, friends and her puppies.
Memorial Gathering: 9:00 a.m., June 5th, 2026 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Drive, Springfield, IL 62703.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., June 5th, 2026, at Church of the Little Flower with Reverend Al Kemme officiating.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. June 13th, 2026 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 1694 Smithville Highway, Sparta, TN, 38583.
