Marcelline “Marce” R. Campbell, 82, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025. She married Patrick V. Campbell, Sr. on June 11, 1960, and shared 65 devoted years together.

Surviving Marce are her husband; children, Tammy D. Taylor of Riverton, Patrick V. Campbell, Jr. of Chicago and Kristine A. (Ross) Solak of Streamwood; four grandchildren, Cole Taylor, Chloe Taylor, Olivia (Danny) Vandyke, and Dane Solak; two great-grandchildren, Wren and Lucas; and sister, Doreen Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Marce was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She worked as a claims representative for Social Security and was a legal secretary for Hoffman and Hoffman. She co-owned Campbell’s Hair Styling with her husband, Patrick, and retired as a hairstylist after many years of service.

Her faith was very important to her and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham.

In tears we saw you sinking, and watched you pass away. Our hearts were almost broken, we wanted you to stay. But when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful, free from pain, how could we wish you back with us, to suffer that again. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You are loved and missed dearly!

Visitation: 9:00 – 10:30 am, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham, with The Most Reverend Thomas John Paprocki officiating and Rev. Joe Molloy concelebrating. A burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or to the American Heart Association.
