Marcia Ann McCarty, 76 of Rochester, IL, passed away peacefully at 12:30 pm, Thursday, June 18, 2026 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 20, 1949 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Harold and Lois (Weiss) Cray. She married Harold Lee McCarty on August 16, 1969 and he preceded in death on December 9, 2020.

 Also preceding her in death are her parents; one grandson, Mackenzy S. Mundy and one brother-in-law, Ray McCarty.

 Marcia is survived by her two children, Stephanie (Scott) Mundy of Waterloo, IL and Kyle McCarty of Springfield, IL; two grandchildren, Zachary Hanusek (fiancé, Sophie Rosenberg) of New York, NY and Addison Hanusek (fiancé, Chad Sauls) of Smithton, IL; one sister, Vicki McCarty of Quincy, IL; one niece, Erica (Dan) Carmean of Quincy, IL; three great nieces, Samantha, Amber, and Tristan Carmean and many, many cousins, too many to name.

 She was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1967. Marcia has been a resident of Rochester since 1983. She retired from St. John’s Hospital as an X-Ray technician after 42 years of service. Her love of helping people kept her there. Putting their needs above hers.

 Marcia was an avid reader and animal lover. She found the most pleasure spending time with her grandchildren and family.

 Visitation: 9:00 am – 10:30 am, Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Matt Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
