Marjorie Eileen Kern

Marjorie Eileen Kern 88, of Springfield, died at 3:48 pm, Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her daughter’s residence in Waggoner, Illinois. She was born October 11, 1937, in Kenney, Illinois, to Theodore D. and Martha E. Nettles Kern. She married Wayne Von Lanken in 1957 and they later divorced.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Von Lanken of Springfield and Tamela (Mark) Robinson of Waggoner; three sons, Steve (Carol) Von Lanken of Springfield, Daniel (Donna) Von Lanken of Waggoner and Duane (Adam Wilson) Von Lanken of Springfield; ten grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Calvin Paul Kern and Donald Kern and two sisters, Veda Nadine Elder and Theodora Natalie Boehm.

Marjorie worked for Electric Power Controls in Spaulding. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting.

The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Arthritis Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, and Gout Research.
