Mark E. Beard, 69, of Sherman, Illinois, passed away on November 25, 2025. Mark was born on August 1, 1956 in Springfield, Illinois, to Edward Earl Beard and Janice Lewis. Mark is survived by the love of his life, Terri Ferguson, who he married on October 25, 1975.

 Mark is also survived by his three children, Nicole (Matt) Tyson, Sara (Adam) Westlake, and Kaylan (Kelsey) Beard, all of Sherman, Illinois. Additionally survived by seven grandchildren, Delaney and Tate Tyson, Alyx and Ella Westlake, Kennedy, Scotti, and Myles (“Honey Bear”) Beard.

 Mark has one surviving brother, Ron Dunkel of Springfield, Illinois, and one surviving sister, Susan Hinds of Sherman, Illinois.

 Mark is proceeded in death by his parents.

 In Mark’s early years, he participated in track, cross country, and basketball for the Williamsville Bullets. It was in 8th grade that Mark fell in love with a cheerleader, who he would call his wife for 50 years. Mark enjoyed bowling, softball, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Mark also coached his three children in various sports over the years.

 Mark worked as a Systems Engineer Architect for Storage Technology for almost 30 years, as well as a number of other large technology companies.

 In recent years, Mark enjoyed traveling and watching his seven grandchildren participate in various sports, concerts, and other activities. While at home, Terri and Mark enjoyed hosting all family events, making caramels and brittle, and sitting outside by their Koi pond.

 Visitation: Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Staab Funeral Home in Sherman.

 Funeral Service: Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., and burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
