Mark “Pete” A. Bartnick, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born July 5, 1961, in Springfield, to Donald L. and Barbara Ann Blair Bartnick.
Surviving Pete include his companion, Mary Anders of Rochester; one son, Mark A. Bartnick, Jr. of Melbourne, FL; one sister, Barbara Lee Holland of New Berlin; two brothers, Thomas J. Bartnick and Steve P. (Margaret “Peggy”) Bartnick, both of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews, Michelle Jacobs, Lisa Rowland, Mickey Bergman, Laura Holland and Kevin Holland, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marissa Bartnick and brother Michael W. Bartnick.
Pete was formerly of Melbourne, FL and worked as a carpet layer for many years, before returning to IL.
Cremation will be arranged by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
