Mary Ann Crifasi, 95, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Concordia Village. She was born May 28, 1927, in Springfield, the daughter of Natale and Maria (Ginnamarinaro) Sodaro. She married Anthony J. Crifasi on July 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death April 12, 2011.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Laura Crifasi; two grandchildren, Mark David Lewis and Nicholas Crifasi; two brothers, Vito and Louis Sodaro; sister, Angela Ciaccio; and son-in-law, Butch Painter.

Survivors include her daughter, Roseann Painter of Springfield; son, Michael (Rita) Crifasi of Springfield; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Preston and Jared Crifasi; four great grandchildren, Leif Preston, Roman Preston, Taylor Crifasi, and Anthony Crifasi; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed cooking. She was truly a loving mother and grandmother.

Mary’s family would like to give a special thank you to HSHS Hospice and to the staff at Concordia Village Assisted Living and Care Center for the loving care that was given to her.

Private family services will be held with entombment at Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local charity of the donor’s choice.
