Mary Florence "Flo" Warren, 88, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at The Villas Senior Care - East in Sherman, IL. She was born on March 8, 1938, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Pietro and Mary Fidanza DiCamillo.
She grew up in Springfield and attended St. Aloysius Grade School and Ursuline Academy. She met the love of her life, William F. Warren, Sr. and they married on July 19, 1958, and he passed away on November 29, 2003. She provided for her family as a homemaker as they had six wonderful children. After her and Bill, Sr. were "empty nesters" she found fulfillment in managing the cafeteria at Ursuline Academy for around 20 years and loved the relationships that came from that experience. She also spent much time with St. John's Hospital as a Samaritan, where she logged some 50,000 hours in volunteer time to help the hospital wherever she was needed.
Her Catholic faith was very important to her and she dedicated many years to St. Aloysius Catholic Church in various groups and committees. Flo loved her long walks, playing card and dice games, especially BUNCO; and one could almost think she loved one man over her husband...Elvis Presley. Her favorite time was always family-related, she was always sure to be one of the first to give birthday greetings and was always on time with her greeting cards.
Flo is survived by her children: William "Bill" F. (Vikki) Warren, Jr. of Springfield, Mary E. (Jim) Ely of Springfield, Patricia "Trish" A. (Mark) Wilson of Lincoln, Victoria "Vicki" S. (Glenn) Fargusson of Las Vegas, and Thomas "Tom" J. Warren of Springfield; thirteen grandchildren, Elisha (Jeremy) Thaxton, Daniel (Nena) Warren, Amy (Neil) Harvey, Tyler (Melanie) Ely, Amanda (Doug) Black, Amber (Josh) Howard, Drake (Kaeli) Curry, Alex (Mekensi) Fargusson, Ashley (Casey) Erickson, Pete (Ashley) Warren, Erin (Brent) Judd, Breanna (Mark) Stinnett, Cathlynn (Silas) Warren; numerous great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Theresa Warren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pietro and Mary; husband, William, Sr.; daughter, Cathy Warren; son, Pete E. Warren; and grandchildren, April Warren and Christopher Wilson.
Visitation: 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Monday, June 29, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home - Springfield, beginning with a Prayer Vigil Service.
