Mary Frances Schnirring, 95, passed away surrounded by her family on July 23, 2025. Born on December 3, 1929, Mary lived a long and joyful life centered around what she valued most - faith, family, and friendship.
On January 22, 1949, she married Thomas Martin Schnirring, and together they shared a wonderful life with their six children.
Mary attended Ursuline Academy and was a proud member of the “Eight Balls”, an exclusive club of eight fun loving Ursuline classmates whose friendship lasted a lifetime. In her later years she was a member of a similarly fashioned group of friends, known as “the birthday club”. Mary loved to tell her funny stories and loved to share a laugh.
Mary was a devout Catholic throughout her life. In her later years, Mary spent many hours volunteering at St Joseph’s Home.
She was the ultimate cheerleader and enthusiastic sports fan. Rain or shine, Mary could always be found on the sidelines. Whether it was baseball, basketball, softball, pom performances or football games, Mary was there with unwavering support and pride for her children and grandchildren.
Mary lives on through her sons Tom Schnirring and wife Vicky, Rick Schnirring, Michael Schnirring and companion Lorraine, and her daughters Mary Lynn Kodrich and husband Michael, Susan Miller and husband Todd, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren as well as the many lives she touched with her humor, kindness, generosity, and devotion. Mary was blessed with the close friendship of two beautiful souls she met while volunteering, Joanie and Julia. She also enjoyed her pen pal and classmate Rich Metzger.
She will be deeply missed.
