Matthew Turley, 53 of Sherman, passed away at 1:10 pm, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born December 15, 1971, the son of Jerry Stix Turley. He married Emily Harvey on October 7, 2006.

 He is survived by his wife, Emily; four children, Isabelle, Brooklyn, Kimberly and Kayla Turley; six siblings, Laura (Jeremiah) Smith, Stephanie Cordery, Fred (Corrie) Campbell and Robert (Mamie) Campbell; Jeremy Turley and Christy Turley; brother-in-law, Mark Harvey, Jr. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also survived by his many Springfield BMX family members.

 He was preceded in death by his father; 2 brothers, Mark Dingman and R.J. Turley and sister, Stacy Manion.

 Matt retired from the Illinois Supreme Court after many years of service. He recently started as a bus driver for the Sherman Williamsville School District. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and racing at Lincoln Speedway.

 Visitation: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, Friday, October 3, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Friday, October 3, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Shane Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

 Memorial contributions may be given to a trust fund for his daughters or the Springfield BMX Raceway.
