M. Meta Jabusch, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Trustwell Living of Springfield. She was born on May 6, 1937, in Bremerhaven, Germany, the daughter of Willy and Emma (Stelling) Ihlo and they preceded her in death.
In 1958 her immigrant journey began when she came to the United States. This journey culminated when became a naturalized citizen in 1963.
She is survived by her son, Lance A. Jabusch and his significant other, Amy L Schaertl, both of Springfield.
Meta had a nearly 30 year career in banking. The majority of that time was with a single institution, Marine Bank which evolved into Bank One then into Chase Bank. She spent the bulk of her career as a loan officer. She was a talented seamstress who found great joy in her sewing projects. She also enjoyed engaging in various landscaping projects around the whichever house she lived in.
Cremation has been accorded by Staab Funeral Home - Springfield and a Family Hosted Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
