Micah Jude Gray was born on his due date, January 22, 2026 at 2:33 pm and called to heaven on January 23, 2026 at 2:20 am in Springfield, IL. Micah’s parents are so grateful to have met him alive, have him baptized, and have him meet his siblings, grandparents, and a few good friends.
In his 12 hours of life here, Micah was enveloped in endless love and cradled in the arms of his loving parents. He passed peacefully with a final breath and single tear.
The Gray and Gwardys families grieve, yet find comfort and confidence that Micah is among the saints in heaven. Parents, Nick and Teresa Gray, sister, Faustina (5), and brother, Charlie (3) survive and will forever hold Micah Jude in their hearts. Likewise, grandparents, Chuck and Jackie Gray, Stan and Mary Gwardys, and great-grandparents, Everett and Loraine Gray, and Whitey and Marlene Jueneman reminisce on the hopes and dreams they harbored for their little saint.
Micah Jude is preceded in death by his sister, Lily Josephine, and by great-grandparents, Eugene and Zofia Gwardys and Mieczyslaw and Wanda Kojro.
The love and prayers of uncles, Nate (Emily) Gray, Anthony (Lauren) Gray, Adam (Holly) Gwardys, and dear cousins Charlotte, Theo, Jesse, and Finley continue to surround Micah as do the prayers of all those who prayed for him since his terminal diagnosis.
The love and joy of being able to hold Micah Jude was worth every sacrifice that was made to make it possible.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday, January 31, 2026, with a private burial at Calvary Cemetery.
