Monica L. Stachowiak 81, of Springfield, died at 1 am, Sunday, September 7, 2025, at her home. She was born August 2, 1944, in Berlin, Germany to Erich Brack and Gertrude Heil. She married Manfred “Fred” Stachowiak on January 14, 1968, and he survives.

 Also surviving are one daughter, Theresa “Tessy” Wilder of Springfield; one son, Eric Stachowiak of Springfield; two grandchildren, Brock Wilder (Fiancé Micah Peebles) and Joseph (Summer) Wilder both of Springfield, with a great grandchild on the way.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings, Ruth Lieburn and Erich Brack; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Agnes Stachowiak and sister-in-law, Lydia Kuhr.

 Monica was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of the Springfield Motor Boat Club. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends and having Monday lunch with her girlfriends.

 She retired as a caretaker at the Springfield Motor Boat Club where she had worked from 1991 – 2012 and previously with her husband Fred, the co-owner of Nino’s Steak Round Up from the late 70’s thru the late 80’s.

 Visitation: 11 am – 1 pm, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 1 pm, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Alex McCullough officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum.
