Nan L. Nases, 77, of Sherman, IL passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 11, 1948, in Springfield, the daughter of Andrew and Virginia (Langham) Schroeder. She married Tommy E. Nases on February 1, 1980, and he survives.

 In addition to her husband Tommy, Nan is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Dan) Eichholz of Rochester, IL, Becky (Gary) Bush of Chicago, IL; one son, Tommy (Melanie) Nases, Jr. of Kalispell, MT; nine grandchildren, Katie (Abram) Castor, Sammi Nases, Hannah Eichholz, Grace Bush, Zach Nases, Ella Bush, Molly Eichholz, Avery Bush, and Jacob Eichholz; five great grandchildren, Christian, Jeremiah, Grace, Micah, and Luke Castor; one brother, Michael (Nancy) Shroeder, of Bloomington, MN. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

 She was preceded in death by her parents.

 Nan attended St. Peter & Paul Grade School and was a 1966 graduate of Ursaline Academy. After graduating from Ursaline Academy, she attended Western Illinois University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree with an English Major.

 Upon graduation, Nan went to work at the State of Illinois Department of Insurance where she met some of her best friends, nicknamed “The Turtles.” She retired after thirty years of service in 2003.

 In her free time Nan and Tom enjoyed spending time boating and camping with family and friends, attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events, and regular lunches with grade school and high school friends. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church.

 Visitation: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Deacon Tom Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.

 Memorial contributions in memory of Nan may be made to the Holy Family Food Pantry or to Catholic Charities.
