Paul W. Greer 73, of Springfield, died at 1:05 am, Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home. He was born July 15, 1952, in Alton, IL, to Paul and Helen Greer. He married Dixie Wright on September 8, 2018, and she survives.

 Also surviving are five children, Viola Buehrlen, Valerie Ward (Scott), Vicki (Darrell) Pocklington, Jeffrey (Mindy) Greer and Shelly Coonrod; five step children; sixteen grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; eleven step great grandchildren; two sisters, Paula Mitchell and Regina (Scott) Smith; one brother Ray Greer; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Judy Wright; special friend, Mike Schmedeke and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Eleanor Pohlman, Sharon Kottk, Virginia Chumley and Judy Dobyns.

 Paul was a US Navy Veteran. He worked in the lab for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

 He was a member of Rochester Community Church.

 Riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles was his passion.

 Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday, May 4, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Monday, May 4, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Scott Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
