Richard L. Tutt, 78, of Springfield, IL, passed away at 9:03 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Regency Nursing Care Residence. He was born on May 3, 1948, in Springfield, the son of Richard W. and Leola E. (Curry) Tutt.

 Richard was a graduate of Springfield High School, Springfield College in Illinois, and McKendree University. He is survived by his four children, Jill Tutt of St. Peters, MO, Christopher Tutt of Presque Isle, ME, Bradley (Angel) Tutt of St. Louis, MO, and Benjamin (Jessica) Tutt of Bartonville, IL; and four grandchildren, Gwenyth, Ethan, Hunter, and Reese.

 Richard enjoyed a successful career as an investment broker with Stifel and A.G. Edwards. A lifelong boating enthusiast, he was a member of the Island Bay Yacht Club and also held a private pilot's license. He was a member of the Flying 20 Club and served on the board of Air Rendezvous. Richard enjoyed traveling, boating, and flying. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his children.

 Per his request, no services will be held.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
