Robert “Bob” F. Heisler, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Villa Healthcare East in Sherman. He was born on July 21, 1938, in Springfield, the son of Joseph and Helen (Griffin) Heisler.

 He is survived by his wife, T. Colleen of Springfield; five children, Chris J. (Rebecca) Heisler of Morton, Terry P. Heisler of Springfield, Kimberly A. Bryant of Chatham, Shannon C. (Bill) VanDyke of Lemoore, CA and Travon M. King of Springfield; ten grandchildren, Meghan, Logan and Nick Heisler, Emma (Trey) Thompson, Gavin and Owen King, Kitt Bryant and Brennan, Bailey and Bria VanDyke; three great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Cecelia and Mathias; and sister, Rosemarie Burg of Springfield.

 He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John B. Heisler and Br. Joseph B. Heisler, CSC; and sister, Dorothy Larson.

 Bob retired as Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Insurance. He was a member of Knights of Columbus – 3rd and 4th Degree and former member of the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. Bob volunteered at St. Martin DePoores and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

 Memorial Gathering: 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Memorial Mass: 11:00 am, Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating. A committal service will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin de Porres of Springfield.
