Robert D. Crossin 86, of Springfield, died at 8:10 am, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born January 25, 1940, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Everett and Leona Reese Crossin. He married Joann VanHorn and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Donna Crossin of Champaign, Diane (Brad) Duzan of Springfield and Michael (Michele) Crossin of Tolono; four grandchildren, Derrick Duzan, Kerri Duzan, Dane Crossin and Krystal Crossin; one sister, Carma Lee Penny of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glynn and Lynn Crossin.
Robert was a US Army veteran. He worked for Farm Supply Services.
He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini fan.
Private graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
