Robert Glenn Burton 67, of Springfield, died at 3:27 pm, Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 13, 1957, in Springfield, to Robert E. and Esther (Durr) Burton. He married DeeAnne “Dee” Edwards April 6, 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, DeeAnne Burton of Springfield; two children, Rachel Marie (Nick) Goedecke of Chatham and Robert E. Burton of Springfield; three grandchildren, Oliver, Owen and Oaklan Goedecke; one sister, Sandra Blakelock of TX; two nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert was a member of West Side Christian Church.

He retired from the Illinois State Police after 34 years of service and also, worked for the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department and for Divernon and Southern View police departments.

Robert was a member of the Route 66 Cruisers; ABATE and Blue Knights.

He loved classic cars, motorcycles and building computers.

Visitation: 4 - 7 pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

A private graveside service will be held at Farmington Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church.
