Robert L. Wilson, Sr. 89, of Springfield passed away at home on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born on July 25, 1936, in Barclay, IL, to Hershel and Hilda M. Martin Wilson. He married Betty Parrish on April 30, 1953, and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2019.

 Also preceding him were his parents; son, Robert Wilson, Jr.; son-in-law, Darin Wilson; grandson, Jason Bossmann and granddaughter, Sara Packinham and brother, Edward Wilson.

 Survivors include five children, Roger (Jean) Wilson of Greenview, Kevin (Connie) Wilson of Elkhart, Teresa (Roy) Pearson of Rochester, Heidi Wilson of Springfield and James (Angie) Wilson of Mt. Pulaski; grandchildren, Roger (Belinda) Wilson, Jr., Hannah Pearson, Jacob (Rene) Pearson, Joshua (Meira) Wilson, Michael (Kirsty) Packinham and Emily Wells; great grandchildren, Whitney Wilson and Chloe Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

 Robert was a very active member of Eastview Baptist Church and served on their Board of Trustees.

 He was a Mail Carrier for USPS for forty-five years.

 He enjoyed reading and loved motorcycle trips.

 Visitation: 10am – 12 pm, Friday, January 23, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

 Funeral Service: 12 pm, Friday, January 23, 2026, at Staab Funeral Home - Springfield with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Burial to follow at Constant Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be made to Eastview Baptist Church.
