Ron “Ronnie” R. Luck, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1940, in Waverly, the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Magnuson) Luck. He married Mattie Anders on November 4, 1988, and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2025.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Larry Luck; and sister-in-law, Beverly Luck.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Brad) Geuther of Glendale, AZ; son, Ken (Gwen) Luck of LaMoille, IL; stepdaughter, Michelle Bartolazzi of Springfield; four grandchildren; Jade Geuther, Nigel Lizarraga, Garrett Luck and Jenna Luck; eight greatgrandchildren; sister, Janice (Raymond) Bechtold of Allison, IA; sister-in-law, Linda Luck of Clarksville, TN; granddog, Bailey Joe; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ronnie received his bachelor’s degree at Wartburg College in 1967 and continued his education at Northern Illinois University where he received his MBA.

Ronnie was a teacher at LaMoille High School, and he also coached basketball, football, and track. He then began his Human Resources career at Westclox in Peru. He was later employed at Anderson Clayton Foods in Jacksonville. He then worked at Lehn and Fink Industries in Lincoln and Reckitt Benckiser in New Jersey.

Upon retirement, he was able to spend time enjoying his favorite hobbies and passions. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He also loved muscle cars.

Cremation will be arranged by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
