Sarah Wadih Nicolas, 46 of Springfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 5, 1978, in Lebanon, the daughter of Nadra A. Wadih, M.D. and Layla J. Soutou Wadih. She married the love of her life, Ramzi T. Nicolas, M.D. on September 17, 2005, and he survives.

 Also surviving are her three children: daughter, Layla Nicolas; and two sons, Toufic “Joshua” Nicolas and Matteo Joseph Nicolas, all of Springfield; sister, Souraya Nadra Wadih of Paris, France, and brother, Antoine “Tony” (Anita Riad Abdo) Wadih, M.D. of Pittsburgh, PA and their three children, Jason, Ryan and John.

 She is preceded in death by her mother, Layla.

 Sarah was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She loved to cook, bringing delicious meals made with love to the table. Spending time with her family, especially her husband and children, brought her so much joy. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Lebanese American University and later worked for Walgreens for over 12 years as a dedicated pharmacist.

Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, June 30, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, beginning with a prayer service.

 Funeral Mass: 10:30 am Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Reverend Michael Friedel officiating. A burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or to Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU.
