Terry D. Wallace, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 8, 1947, in Springfield, the son of Wyatt C. and Betty Mae (Greenhalgh) Wallace.
Survivors include his two sisters, Debbie (David) Danner of Springfield and Diane Runkel of Dawson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel Lee Wallace; and brother-in-law, Leo “Butch” Runkel.
Terry had a lifelong love for sports, especially baseball and football, and always kept up with the games as a devoted St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. He worked for many years in construction as a skilled carpenter, taking pride in craftsmanship and hard work. Most recently, he was employed at NAPA Auto Parts in Springfield, where he retired. Terry was also a proud United States Army veteran, serving from 1966 to 1968, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service.
A private family graveside service was held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors were conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
