A. Geraldine Thompson 102, of Riverton died on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home. She was born April 1, 1924, in Modesto, IL, to Hugh H. and Cecil Laura (Chowning) Drum. She married Carl Edward Thompson on April 5, 1943, and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1979.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; one daughter, Barbara Ellen Coy; three grandchildren, Phillip and Andrew Miller and James Maynard and seven siblings.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Miller (Ann Stiner) of Springfield and L. Katherine Humphress of Riverton; nine grandchildren, Jeri Brown, Steven (Becky) Thompson, Kyle (Allison) Bartlett, Zachary (Kate) Humphress, Michael Humphress, Christopher Coy, Robert Coy, Jan (Jennifer) Maynard, Dustin (Stacia) Coy; twenty-two great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was an eighty-six-year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching.
She retired from the County Clerk’s office after eleven years as a secretary. Previously she worked in bookkeeping for Myers Brothers and Uptown Garage.
Graveside service: 11 am, Monday, June 8, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
