Alex Robert Cloyd, 25, of New Berlin, died at 7:50 am, Monday, April 8, 2024. He was born January 23, 1999, in Springfield, to David Christopher Cloyd and Amanda Brooks.

Survivors include his mother, Amanda (David) Ushman of New Berlin; three brothers, David A. (Jessica) Ushman of Springfield, Bradley Ott of New Berlin and James Ushman of New Berlin; grandparents, Dale and Pam Brooks of New Berlin and Helen Ushman of Chatham; one nephew, Ethan Ushman and one niece, Natalie Ushman; close uncle, Lance (Sara) Brooks of Denver, CO; great aunt, Jan Walker of Denver, CO; one great uncle, Phil (Karen) Brooks of Springfield and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and great grandparents, James and Roma Rose Fisher; great grandmother, Evelyn Brooks, and great grandfather, Robert Brooks.

Alex was a 2017 graduate of New Berlin High School and was a member of the Art Club. He was a very talented artist in all aspects of art. Alex played football for the New Berlin Pretzels JFL for 5 years and was a part of the 4th grade team that won the Super Bowl and he also played baseball for Loami-New Berlin youth baseball teams. Alex was a collector of Star Wars memorabilia, woodworking, specializing in birdhouses, and enjoyed spending time with his friends online.

Visitation: 2-5 pm, Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, April 15, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Donn Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
