Ann E. Dixon, 91, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born July 1, 1933 in Versailles, IL to Edward J. and Daisy J Hofsess Noble. She married Frederick William Dixon on July 12, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1999.

Her parents; one son, Brett Nathan Dixon; one sister, Margaret Allen; and three brothers, James, Jake and Jerry Noble also preceded her in death.

Surviving Ann include one daughter, Susan Kay Dixon of Hawaii; one son, John (Lisa) Dixon of Greenview, IL; six grandchildren, Shalom Whitford, Aaron Whitford, Shamra Kline, Jake (Katy) Dixon, Austin Dixon, and Sam Dixon; four great-grandchildren, Elijah and Isaac Gleffe, Shaun and Hazel Kline; one sister, Kay Whitaker of Perry, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ann was a faithful member of Farmingdale Presbyterian Church for many years. She was always hospitable, making sure you had something to eat, even when you were not hungry. She was well known for her cooking, especially her blackberry cobbler. Spending time with her family was very important to her and she also enjoyed many adventures with her best friend, Velma Fraase.

Visitation: 9:00 – 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.


Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. A burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Chambersburg, IL.
