Beth Colleen Goodwin, 63, of Springfield, IL died at 6:53 pm, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born February 10, 1961 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Knox Robert and Janet Louise (Henley) Griffin. She married Mark Goodwin June 19, 1982.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; one daughter, Amy (Lori) Suter of Springfield; two sons, Edward (Patricia) Cox and Terry Griffin, both of Salem, IL; eight grandchildren, Christa Griffin, Alana Cox, Ashton White, Kendall White, RaeLin White, Blake Suter, Greysen and Camden Suter; seven siblings, Margaret Tilley, Ericka Collinsworth, Calvin Griffin, Bonnie Maradik, Belinda Griffin, John Griffin and Suzy Turus and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Diana Hawks.

Beth has lived in Springfield for about 1 ½ years. She was formerly of Salem, IL. She worked at Walmart for over 15 years as a baker.

She loved to read, cook and spend as much time with her family as possible. She enjoyed the beach and being in the sunshine.

The family will host a Celebration of Life from 1 – 4pm, Saturday, March 23, 2024 at The American Legion Post 32, 1120 E. Sangamon Ave. Springfield, IL 62702. Anyone attending is invited to wear their favorite Chicago Bears gear or orange to honor Beth’s favorite team and her fight against Leukemia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society – World Wise Technology Hope Lodge in St. Louis, MO.
